For my college capstone project, I managed Ithaca College’s inaugural 3 Day Startup (3DS), a program that delivers free entrepreneurship education to college students. Participants create business ideas within small groups over the course of a weekend by working with mentors and pitching their ideas to a panel of experts at the end of the program.

Along with a co-manager and a 3DS program facilitator, I managed the planning and execution of the entire weekend. My co-manager and I developed the marketing and recruitment strategies for this brand new program on campus by printing flyers, advertising on social media, writing promotional email blasts, and personally reaching out to campus members to promote the event.

Additionally, we secured food donations from local businesses, mentors who helped the student groups with their pitches, and expert panelists to give feedback on their business ideas. During the weekend, we also managed student volunteers who helped with event logistics, and journalism students who covered the event for the campus newspaper.
